This September, the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) will hold its annual convention in Maryland, celebrating six decades of developing standards and methods for designing, fabricating, and constructing concrete structures.

The event, which includes the National Bridge Conference, kicks off September 6 at the National Harbor’s Gaylord National Resort and Convention Centre shortly before CONSTRUCT & the CSI Annual Convention[1] in nearby Baltimore.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet continuing education requirements, network with industry leaders, and learn about what is new in precast concrete products, materials, and services. Programming includes an extensive technical curriculum, with more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, along with various education tracks. There will also be an exhibit hall featuring new products and industry technologies, explained PCI’s managing director—and The Construction Specifier author[2]—Brian D. Miller, PE, LEED AP.

“The conference will feature a full afternoon of programing dedicated to architects. The free special session will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 9. Attendees will receive four HSW Learning Units of continuing education on the latest aesthetic innovations and exceptional applications of high performance precast concrete,” he explained. “This is a great opportunity for architects and specifiers to learn more about how precast concrete is the perfect material to optimize efficiency, versatility, and resiliency in upcoming projects.”
