DragonBoard Structural Subflooring
DragonBoard is a U.S.-patented, Underwriters Laboratories (UL)-approved, fire-resistant, water-resistant, high-impact construction panel that is ideal for both interior subflooring and roofing applications. With its mold-resistant, fire-resistant, and high-impact properties, DragonBoard should be used whenever there is a high value placed on a building’s contents, loadbearing, or when health and safety concerns exist.
DragonBoard is:
- UL two-hour fire-rated floor/ceiling (Design #UL G575);
- noncombustible per ASTM E136, Standard Test Method for Assessing Combustibility of Materials Using a Vertical Tube Furnace at 750°C, ASTM E119, Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials, and 0/Smoke 0/Flame per ASTM E84, Standard Test Method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials;
- water resistant and mold/insect/fungus-proof, and freeze/thaw tested per ASTM G21, Standard Practice for Determining Resistance of Synthetic Polymeric Materials to Fungi;
- prremium sound transmission class (STC)- sound assembly tested;
- 19 mm (3/4 in.) weighs 2 kg (4 lb) per square foot;
- no asbestos/formaldehyde/volatile organic compounds (VOCs);
- ideal structural subflooring (replaces 63.5 mm (2 1/2 in.) of concrete;
- replaces 19-mm (3/4-in.) plywood or oriented strand board (OSB);
- a sustainable, green, and cost-effective alternative to cement-based products; and
- may contribute to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
