Mid-Atlantic Timberframes has roots that tap deep into the heritage of timber building while at the same time embracing today’s technologies. With a team of third-generation woodworkers, plus seasoned timber framers and CNC specialists, MATF creates components for heavy timber, mass timber, and traditional timber builds from its fabrication shop in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Once nearly a lost art in the mid-20th century, timber frame construction has been revitalized for a new generation of architects, engineers, builders, and property owners with sustainable, strong, adaptable, and attractive materials and methods. Exposed posts, beams, trusses, and rafters generate biophilia for those who work or live within the timber frame structures. This feeling of connection with nature and the outside world promotes reduced stress levels, but also serves to dampen sound, regulate temperature and humidity levels, and is an eco-positive material that sequesters carbon.

The use of timber components allows for large open spaces and wide bays thanks to the strength of timber beams and trusses. Soaring overhead, these timbers can be rough-hewn to imbibe a rustic feel or smoothed for a modern look. At Mid-Atlantic Timberframes, we work with architects from the earliest stages to achieve the aesthetic they and their clients desire. Our 3D modeling, structural engineering, and value engineering expertise make each project run as efficiently as possible, with gorgeous results.
