The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has released a new edition of Wind Loads, a guide focused on ASCE/SEI 7-10, Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures. Written by Kishor C. Mehta and William L. Coulbourne, the revised text now includes six chapters dedicated to wind load provisions, rather than only one for both residential and commercial building. Aimed at an audience of structural engineers, it includes simplified calculation methods and cladding guidelines. The guide provides an overview of design features, wind map information, 14 case study examples, and frequently asked questions. Copies are available at www.asce.org.
