Beaverton High School (BHS), the oldest high school in the city and the largest project in the bond, has broken ground on its complete rebuild.<\/p>\n

The project, undertaken by Skanksa, will comprise a 27,917 m2<\/sup> (300,500 sf), three-story building with a 1,439 m2<\/sup> (15,500 sf) enclosed courtyard.<\/p>\n

Construction work includes a new academic and gymnasium building, as well as new student and staff parking lots, athletic field structures, and landscaping.<\/p>\n

The new building will include prefabricated exterior walls, solar panels, skylights, and windows for natural light.<\/p>\n

The school\u2019s current standalone cafeteria building will remain, with a new covered walkway connecting it to the new academic and gymnasium building. The new academic spaces will also entail a new shop space. The construction plan also includes a modernized performing arts area and athletic field improvements. The new theater will have cedar wood to improve acoustics.<\/p>\n
