Following a $28 million transformation, the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center has unveiled the 3,929 m2<\/sup> (42,300 sf) renovated south building, which includes indoor and outdoor exhibits and a new vet center.<\/p>\n

The interiors are inspired by the colors and textures of marine habitats and were designed using durable and sustainable materials.<\/p>\n

Other features of the aquarium\u2019s renovated and expanded facility include immersive experiences with new animals and galleries, interactive exhibits and kids\u2019 play areas, touch pools, an observable veterinary care center, a Jellies Gallery, and an Undersea Super Powers Gallery.<\/p>\n

A 1,282 m2<\/sup> (13,800 sf) addition to the south building now houses a vet center which includes a clinical lab space, treatment and surgery facilities, ICU care space, a necropsy lab, and veterinary staff offices, and meeting spaces.<\/p>\n
