The $336-million redevelopment and expansion of the 4.8-ha (12-acre) New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) campus in Newark, N.J., will enrich the city\u2019s artistic landscape.<\/p>\n

One of the largest performing arts centers in the United States, the NJPAC master plan consists of two projects under this expansion: ArtSide and the Chambers Plaza redevelopment.<\/p>\n

ArtSide is a new mixed-use, mixed-income residential building designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). It will include residential units, offices, retail, and cultural spaces.<\/p>\n

The Chambers Plaza project includes rebuilding NJPAC\u2019s front entrance and adding Essex County Green, a four-season urban outdoor park.<\/p>\n

Construction firm Turner Construction completed the original NJPAC facility in 1997 and is now further expanding the campus to enhance the city\u2019s cultural and residential infrastructure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
