Roper St. Francis Healthcare, together with E4H Environments for Health Architecture, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), and Barton Malow | Edifice, has broken ground on the new Roper Hospital.<\/p>\n

The project turns a challenging suburban site into a connected healthcare destination that draws inspiration from the region\u2019s distinctive landscape.<\/p>\n

The $1.2-billion campus is designed to transform healthcare delivery in the Lowcountry, combining advanced technology, resilience planning, and a patient-centered approach.<\/p>\n

Upon full buildout, the 74,787-m2<\/sup> (805,000-sf) hospital building will include inpatient beds, an emergency department, critical care beds, operating rooms, a comprehensive imaging department, and a hemodialysis unit.<\/p>\n

The layout integrates procedure rooms from various disciplines on the same floor, enabling efficient interdepartmental care in cardiac, neurology, and endoscopy services.<\/p>\n

Despite challenges related to seismic conditions, FAA height restrictions, and a high water table, the project remains on track for completion in 2029.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
