It will also provide opportunities for attendees to earn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aia.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American Institute of Architects<\/a> (AIA) continuing education Learning Units (LUs).<\/p>\n<p>The event\u2019s second day will also feature speeches\u2014in this case, keynote addresses by Lee Kreutzer of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Park Service<\/a> (NPS) National Trails System and Katherine Wonson of the NPS Western Center for Historic Preservation. Hosted at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, the day will also include paper sessions, giving attendees the option to focus on Seismic Retrofit of Historic Buildings, Materials and Construction Techniques, or Cultural Heritage Management.<\/p>\n<p>The closing day of the symposium comprises three full-day field sessions, titled:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antelope Island;<\/li>\n<li>Historical Arts and Casting and Local Trails; and<\/li>\n<li>Salt Lake City Seismic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Organizers recommend attendees come prepared for walking on the day of the field sessions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/events.r20.constantcontact.com\/register\/event?oeidk=a07edotq9ik0c7d21e8&amp;llr=ctpvpccab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Registration<\/a> for the symposium is now open.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Association for Preservation Technology (APT) will host its symposium, \u201cMesa to Mountain: Preservation in the American West,\u201d in Salt Lake City, Utah, March 23 to 25.
