Intended to honor outstanding members of the metal construction industry, the awards span six categories. Two winners were named for this year\u2019s Industry Champion of the Year Award.<\/p>\n<p>The first of the two, Scott Kriner, has experience as a technical director and consultant with MCA, where he has worked for the past 13 years, though he began his career at Bethlehem Steel. He has 35 years of varied experience in metal construction, having worked on hot-dip coatings, pretreatments, and paints, and started his own consulting business in 2006. At age 21, Partyka has been part of Drexel Metals Inc. for a large portion of the company\u2019s life. He is a member of various committees and councils, including the National Roofing Contractors Association\u2019s (NRCA\u2019s) Industry Advisory Board, CEO Advisory Council for the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce, and MCA\u2019s Market Development and Statistics Committees (both of which he chairs). Partyka also makes educational contributions such as publishing trade articles and teaching about how metal can be used to reduce heat gain in structures.<\/p>\n<p>Other winners included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the Media Executive\/Journalist of the Year Award, granted to Shawn Zuver, Bob Fittro, and John Garvey for their work on <a href=\"http:\/\/designandbuildwithmetal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">designandbuildwithmetal.com<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>the Corporate\/Individual Citizen of the Year Award, granted to PSMJ Resources (the producers of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metalcon.com\/metalcon17\/public\/enter.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Metalcon<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Young Movers and Shakers Awards, granted to Jonathan Rider of D.I. Roof Seamers, Dustin Haddock of S-5!, Josey Parks of Metal Roofs of Texas, and Mark Bus of ATAS International;<\/li>\n<li>the Salesperson of the Year Award, granted to Donn Couch of SFS Intec; and<\/li>\n<li>the Enterpreneur of the Year Award, granted to Oded Shemla of iRoofing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Anyone in the metal industry is welcome to nominate next year\u2019s winners on the MCA or Metalcon sites.
