Edwards Industry Advancement Award. <\/span><br \/> <em><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Photo \u00a9 Miami in Focus<\/span><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Last week, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pci.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Precast\/Prestressed Concrete Institute<\/a> (PCI) announced the winners of its 55<sup>th<\/sup> annual design awards program. They are evaluated by a panel of industry experts, including precast concrete producers, engineers, and architects.<\/p>\n<p>The buildings and transportation categories are judged on criteria such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>aesthetic, structural, and use versatility;<\/li>\n<li>site, energy and operational efficiency, and risk reduction; and<\/li>\n<li>resiliency (<em>i.e.<\/em> structure durability and multi-hazard protection).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the special projects category, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pci.org\/PCI\/Project_Resources\/Project_Profile\/Project_Profile_Details.aspx?ID=214951\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science<\/a> in Miami, Florida, received the Harry H. Edwards Industry Advancement Award, which recognizes projects utilizing fresh concepts with the potential of moving the industry forward.
