The firm won the bid in an international design competition, launched jointly by Dylan\u2019s management team and the collection\u2019s owner, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gkff.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">George Kaiser Family Foundation<\/a> (GKFF).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter reviewing proposals from top firms around the world, we agreed that Olson Kundig\u2019s experience, talent, and design aesthetic stood out as the best fit for this project,\u201d said Ken Levit, GKFF\u2019s executive director. \u201cWe are excited about the vision that Olson Kundig expressed for a world-class cultural center that will do justice to the iconic Bob Dylan collection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Olson Kundig\u2019s design principals Tom Kundig, FAIA, and Alan Maskin won first place in the competition following an extensive evaluation process by a committee of advisors. Tulsa-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lillyarch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lilly Architects<\/a> is partnering with the firm as the architect of record, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plainsofyonder.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Plains of Yonder<\/a> is the partner for audio and multimedia experiences for the project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a deeply meaningful project for us\u2014not only acting as architectural support to Bob\u2019s transformational legacy and creative, disciplined force, but also in preserving the teaching value of his legacy for future generations,\u201d said Kundig.<\/p>\n<p>The center, which will house permanent, temporary, and traveling exhibitions, will curate more than 100,000 items for public display, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>handwritten manuscripts and correspondence;<\/li>\n<li>films, videos, photographs, and artwork;<\/li>\n<li>unreleased studio and concert recordings;<\/li>\n<li>musical instruments;<\/li>\n<li>personal documents and effects; and<\/li>\n<li>memorabilia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bob Dylan Center is slated to open in
