Scores over 50 represent billings growth, meaning June\u2019s ABI demonstrates improved demand for architecture firm services across all sectors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArchitects continue to see increases in demand for their services this summer, with new project work coming in at a healthy pace,\u201d said Kermit Baker, AIA chief economist. \u201cHowever, business conditions are beginning to vary across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Specific sectors performed as follows on the ABI:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>commercial\/industrial scored 53.4;<\/li>\n<li>institutional scored 51.6;<\/li>\n<li>multifamily residential scored 54.6; and<\/li>\n<li>mixed practice scored 49.3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In regard to regional averages, the numbers remain largely the same from last month; the Midwest came in at 49.8 (down slightly from 50.2 in May) and the North reported 50.2 (from 50.6 in May). The West experienced the most notable dip, reporting at 46.9 compared to 51.9.
