Each entry will be judged by a panel of industry professionals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Brick in Architecture Awards program offers the most prestigious juried competition of its kind,\u201d said Ray Leonhard, BIA president. \u201cArchitects are inspired by fired clay brick\u2019s aesthetic flexibility to match their imagination and desires, and as a material made from abundant natural resources, it is a perfect strategy in sustainable design.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Competitors must enter into one or more of the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>commercial (with divisions for both over and under $10 million);<\/li>\n<li>education (subdivide into K\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u201312 and colleges\/universities);<\/li>\n<li>healthcare facilities;<\/li>\n<li>municipal\/government;<\/li>\n<li>places of worship;<\/li>\n<li>residential (separate subcategories for single- and multi-family);<\/li>\n<li>renovation\/restoration; and<\/li>\n<li>paving and landscape.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The association will be collecting entries until April 30 and the winners will be announced in June.<\/p>\n<p>For full competition details, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gobrick.com\/Events-Education\/Brick-In-Architecture-Awards\">www.gobrick.com\/Events-Education\/Brick-In-Architecture-Awards<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Brick Industry Association (BIA) is searching for the best projects of the past year and is now accepting submissions for its annual awards program.
