The following recipients will receive their recognition July 18 at Celebration, ASID\u2019s annual gala in Boston:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Designer of Distinction: Sonya Dufner, director of workplace strategy at Gensler New York;<\/li>\n<li>Design for Humanity: William Browning, co-founder of Terrapin Bright Green;<\/li>\n<li>Design Innovation: Wayne Ruga, founder of the Center for Health Design; and<\/li>\n<li>Nancy Vincent McClelland Merit Award: Lisa Marie Tucker, educator at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Blacksburg, Virginia).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis year\u2019s recipients play a critical role in the advancement of the interior design profession and the impact design has in our everyday lives, our culture, and society as a whole,\u201d said Stephanie Clemons, national chair of ASID. \u201cThe remarkable work represented by these individuals speaks powerfully to the depth and excellence of important design work happening across the country through healthcare design, education, research, environmental design, and workplace design.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Award-winners are selected annually by a panel of judges who represent the design community. This year\u2019s panel includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tama Duffy Day, health and wellness practice leader at Gensler;<\/li>\n<li>Erica Templeton, editorial director of <em>Interiors and Sources<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li>Cindy Donn, architecture and design director for Haworth\u2019s east region;<\/li>\n<li>Valerie Fletcher, executive director of the Institute for Human Centered Design; and<\/li>\n<li>Breeze Glazer, sustainable design leader and research knowledge manager for Perkins and Will.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) announced the winners of its national awards highlighting the best of indoor spaces.
