The proposed project has a three-dimensional oval design with an exterior made of diamond-shaped metal panels inspired by the concept of a basketball swishing through a net.<\/p>\n<p>The Inglewood Basketball &amp; Entertainment Center will revitalize vacant land under the flight path of the Los Angeles International Airport into a campus. In addition to the arena, it will include the team\u2019s business and basketball offices, training facility, and community and retail spaces.<\/p>\n<p>The facility will integrate indoor\/outdoor \u2018sky gardens\u2019 intended to highlight the temperate climate of Southern California. These landscaped areas for food and beverage will be accessible from the concourse levels. The complex also envisions a multi-purpose plaza with a concert stage, community basketball courts, and space for the community to gather.<\/p>\n<p>The arena was designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aecom.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AECOM<\/a>, a Los Angeles-based architecture firm. Anderson Barker Architects and City Design Studio designed the plaza buildings. Hood Studios provided the landscape architecture.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the aesthetics, the metal panels have been designed to provide solar benefit and energy efficiency, as part of the facility\u2019s goal to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.
