Dutchman repairs
Failures

Dutchman repairs are used to permanently repair cracked, spalled, or deeply eroded stone units. The installation of a dutchman repair begins with the preparation of the substrate by cutting, chipping, and grinding the damaged portion of the parent stone to a squared-off profile. Care must be taken to not damage the parent stone beyond the limits of necessary preparation work. Consideration should also be given to the resulting geometry—in some cases, it may be necessary to extend a repair to the next joint or reveal to avoid leaving narrow slivers or offsets of stone that would be prone to future cracking.

Condo finish choices – suggested language?
I am working on a couple of condo projects, for different architects, and the developers are giving the condos’ purchasers a limited range of choices of finish to be installed in the units. I want to indicate in the Product Requirements spec the scheduled finishes are subject to Owner direction (directing the GC based on what the unit’s purchaser has chosen) and that not all the finishes may be required for the finished Work. In your experience, is such a warning necessary, first of all, but second, have you any suggested language for expressing this condition?
