I have been working on rewriting my employer’s master spec Section 01 21 00 – Allowances. The draft has provisions that expressly cover: (1) contingency allowances, (2) quantity allowances, and (3) cash allowances. What types of allowances does your firm’s Section 01 21 00 – Allowances, cover?

BID PACKAGES AND SPECIFICATIONS
Wondering how the community handles a specification section, such as 072100–Thermal Insulation, when you need to release the content in several different bid packages. For example, the below slab and foundation wall insulation selections go out in the Footings and Foundations Bid Release, but then the wall and roof selections need to go out in a later Building Envelope Release. Do you find it works better to build off of one document and italicize the added content as if it were an Addendum or CB? Or create a new, separate section with a new number?
