The “basis of design” |
Hi all, I wanted to get some opinions on the “basis of design” language within a spec. When is it “appropriate” and when it might not be? Any thoughts on the subject appreciated.

Architect / Engineering Standards & Specifications Manual |
I’m looking for help from my peers and industry experts here. Our city is looking to solicit for a firm to help us develop an A/E Standards & Specifications Manual to include a model Division 0 and Division 1 that we could use for all our major Capital Improvement Projects. I think the work would include both short- and long-form versions of both divisions. I was wondering if any firms have developed this before, or if anyone out there has a scope of work that I can use as a starting point to help me refine this scope to fit our needs. Thank you.
