DISCUSSIONS OF THE WEEK |
|
Specifying mass timber component protection during construction |
Recently attended a webinar presented by a company that provides membranes for protection of mass timber components from weather related water exposure during construction. Specifications for these other products usually state only a performance requirement that the constructor will provide such protection, along with very limited or mostly no description of the specific products or methods. Asking how other specifiers have addressed this issue, as the vast majority of constructions have no experience with mass timber construction, and the necessary appropriate weather protection of the product during construction.
