Windows and doors: Verifying structural strength
Windows and doors:
Verifying structural strength
Laboratory testing is the typical way to verify if fenestration products meet specified structural design pressure criteria. These requirements are often based on the code-mandated AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440, North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS)/Specification for windows, doors, and skylights, or local variations of this standard.

When Tindall brought its new precast floor system from Denmark to the U.S. in 2020, the U.S. customers were not satisfied with accepting the system’s historical performance and European test results. They needed to be certain Tindall Superior Lightweight All-Purpose Beam (T-SLAB®) met International Building Code (IBC) requirements and would deliver the kind of performance Tindall customers have come to expect. To do that, Tindall decided to put T-SLAB to test by teaming up with experts at the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC) to analyze the product.

FLEXIBLE BOLLARDS
I just crafted a specification section at the request of one of our offices for Flexible Bollards. I “created” section 32 39 11 Manufactured Flexible Bollards as the requested spec but wondered who else has had such an exercise and if you might be willing to share what you wrote? The willingness and assistance of the CSI Nation is most appreciated!

FM-200 SPECIFYING
Does anyone have any advice on specifying room pressurization requirements for IT rooms that will be receiving FM-200 clean agent fire suppression systems? We need to ensure the space meets pressurization requirements (10 minutes minimum). Especially for multi-prime projects, we are having trouble with final testing not meeting requirements and a lot of finger pointing to responsibility for leakage sealing.
