3D-printed San Diego pedestrian bridge concept wins 2021 Forge Prize |

This pedestrian bridge concept by Hunter Ruthrauff of T.Y. Lin International Group was awarded the 2021 Forge Prize by the American Institute of Steel Construction. Ruthrauff’s design, conceived for a site in San Diego’s Balboa Park, draws on Spanish-inspired architecture in the Prado, local flora, and the nearby Cabrillo Bridge. |

EXISTING BUILDING SURVEY DATABASE |
I'm once again on the ever-elusive unicorn database. I would love to hear any suggestions on what people have used. Here are the things I'm looking for: an app that can cross desktop/mobile/tablets, affordable - free would be awesome, but I'm looking right now for something for me to experiment with, so nothing expensive. The goal is to use this as an existing building survey in place of paper sheets.

HOW MANY FIRMS ARE USING FULL-TIME SPECIFIERS? |
We see frequent reference to how architecture firms are using fewer full-time specifiers, but does anyone know a source of actual data? Where can I find how many or what percentage firms have in-house full-time specifiers. How many use outside contractors? In how many firms does the architect do their own specs? In how many firms does no one produce specs? How much has that changed over the years?
