PEXa tubing can be bent as much as five times the outside diameter (OD) when cold and three times the OD after heating with a heat gun. (The bend radius of PEXb and PEXc is slightly less.) The superior flexibility of PEX compared to chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) and copper pipes significantly reduces the need for fittings in plumbing systems.
