C.W. Driver Companies broke ground on the $175-million modernization of Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Los Angeles County.

The project will be executed in three strategic phases. The first will focus on site improvements, utility upgrades, and interim housing facilities to prepare the campus for continued operation during construction. Phases two and three will deliver additional improvements, transitioning campus spaces to serve new academic and student support functions.

The three-phase transformation will modernize eight historic campus buildings while adding a 6,039-m2 (65,000-sf) Career and Technical Education (CTE) classroom building and will provide interim student housing.

Notable new facilities at Long Beach Polytechnic High School will include a medical simulation lab supporting the school’s medical pathway,  engineering and computer science labs, robotics and automotive technology labs, and a dedicated engineering courtyard and outdoor learning environments.

Slated for completion in late 2027, the comprehensive project will support student success across all disciplines.
