Global hospitality network NEWH has opened applications for scholarships totaling up to $20,000 for students pursuing careers in construction, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other skilled trades.

Nominations for the 2027 Structures of Hospitality Excellence (SOHE) Award & Scholarship Program are open through October 1, 2026. Organizers will present the award and scholarships on the main stage at ALIS DESIGN+ on January 28, 2027.

The scholarship is open to students enrolled in certificate or technical diploma programs. The courses should focus on construction, electrical work, pipe trades, HVAC, and other fields that support the construction and maintenance of hospitality properties. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 or equivalent.

The SOHE Award recognizes companies that deliver complex hospitality projects. HITT Contracting received the 2026 award.

A panel of hospitality construction industry leaders will judge the 2027 SOHE Award.
