Google’s Austin HQ and SoFi stadium receive Texas design award

The Texas Society of Architects (TxA) has revealed the 15 winners of its annual design awards, honoring outstanding architectural and urban design projects by Texas architects.

After reviewing 251 entries, these were the standout projects for the jury:

  • Austin ISD Sánchez Elementary School by McKinney York Architects
  • Bahamas Cottage in Harbour Island, by Max Levy Architect
  • Block 185 in Austin by Pelli Clarke & Partners + STG Design
  • The Branch School, Hightower Middle School in Houston by Kirksey Architecture
  • Chertecho Tree Tower in Fredericksburg by Dietert Design Studio
  • Chroma in Fort Worth by Ibañez Shaw Architecture
  • Ghost Hangar in Utopia by John Grable Architects
  • Hotel 1928 in Waco by Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture
  • River Bend Residence in New Braunfels by Lake|Flato Architects
  • Shenandoah House in Lexington, Va., by SCHAUM/SHIEH Architects
  • SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park in Inglewood, Calif., by HKS
  • Sudor Sauna Studio in Houston by CONTENT Architecture
  • Texas A&M University Southside Rec Center, College Station by SmithGroup
  • Uchiko in Houston by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture
