CEMCO Hotrod XL is a composite fire-rated wall mount deflection bead that provides one- and two-hour fire-ratings in lieu of fire sealant for both dynamic and static joints according to the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 2079, Standard for Tests for Fire Resistance of Building Joint Systems, and is sound tested according to ASTM E90, Standard Test Method for Laboratory Measurement of Airborne Sound Transmission Loss of Building Partitions and Elements.

It provides an L-rating of less than 1 CFM/Lin Ft for ambient and 200 C (400 F). It can be pre-installed to the front or back side of the drywall.

Hotrod XL’s 13-mm (1/2-in.) wide intumescent strip is combined with a compressible foam covered by a paintable vinyl finishing leg. The 8-m (5/16-in.) tear-away leg acts as a guide to apply joint compound without masking off adjoining surfaces. Made from rustproof, dent-resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to reduce jobsite and handling damage it does not contain cellulose, a potential food source for mold.

It comes in 3-m (10-ft) lengths, 10 pieces per box, and 40 boxes per pallet.
