Good & Roberts has topped out the $20.5 million Illinois St. Apartments project in San Diego, marking the completion of structural construction. The contractor, part of C.W. Driver Companies, is delivering the development for Falcon Co. LLC.

The 5,202 m2 (56,000-sf) project will add 65 rental units to a centrally located site, contributing to the city’s multifamily housing supply. The design consists of five stories of wood-frame construction set above a three-level concrete podium, a common approach for mid-rise urban developments that balance cost and durability.

Plans call for shared amenities, including a rooftop deck for resident use and 41.8 m2 (450 sf) of street-level retail. A mechanical car stacker system is also being installed to increase on-site parking capacity without expanding the building footprint.

Project completion is targeted for December 2026.
