A former parking lot in Milwaukee could soon be repurposed to include both the tallest mass timber building in the world and the tallest building in Wisconsin.

Mixed-use developer The Neutral Project has proposed to build multiple mixed-use buildings with a total investment of more than $700 million.

Over several phases, the project could include up to 750 residential units, 17,651 m2 (190,000 sf) of office space, 3,716 m2 (40,000 sf) of retail space, 300 hotel rooms, 1,100 structured parking spaces, and public plazas, and walkways.

Milwaukee is also home to the world’s current tallest mass timber building—25-story Ascent.
