Translucent drop-out panels are installed between racks of computer servers as part of cold-aisle containment systems. Filtered and refrigerated air is blown through the plenum to cool the electronic devices. Locating fire sprinklers and light fixtures outside the conditioned zone prevented air loss through ceiling penetrations and heat gain from lamps. It also preserves headroom, simplifies housekeeping, and allows technicians working inside aisles and on top of racks to have visual contact. Photo courtesy Instor Solutions Inc.
