A new online resource is designed to help homeowners rebuilding after wildfires explore fire-resistant, noncombustible construction options.

The Resilient Rebuild Hub also helps homeowners connect with architects, engineers, and contractors familiar with these building systems.

Building With Resilience launched the resource. The collaborative effort is led by Build With Strength, the California Construction and Industrial Materials Association (CalCIMA), the California Nevada Cement Association (CNCA), and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA).

The resource grew out of an effort by homeowners in Pacific Palisades, Calif., who banded together last year after the devastating wildfires to explore rebuilding with fire-hardened materials.

“Families rebuilding after wildfires or building in high-fire risk zones shouldn’t have to become fire science experts overnight just to make a good decision for their home,” says Tom Tietz, executive director of CNCA. “This new resource explains proven, non-combustible building system approaches in plain language at the moment homeowners need it.”

According to CNCA, the hub is a practical starting point for families weighing rebuilding options rather than a substitute for professional guidance.

For contractors and design professionals, the hub provides a way to help homeowners understand their options and connect with qualified project team members.
