Perched on its new resilient pier platform, the Cove in San Francisco’s waterfront, designed by Heatherwick Studio, will be a waterfront destination—a two-building workplace campus with a central 2-ha (5-acre) ecological public park.
The Pasadena Convention Center is a premier meeting and events venue nestled in the heart of Pasadena, California. Built in 1931, the nearly 50-year-old conference center building was in need of some upgrades—including the restrooms. The solution was a full suite of touch-free products, such as sinks, faucets, soap dispensers, hand dryers, and sensor flushometers for water closets and urinals.
MAD Architects, led by Ma Yansong, has completed ‘Gardenhouse’ in California’s Beverly Hills, the firm’s first project in the United States. Gardenhouse is a mixed-use scheme consisting of 18 residential units above a ground floor dedicated to commercial use. Evoking the lush landscape of Beverly Hills, the scheme becomes a ‘hillside village’ with residential units ‘growing’ from the building’s living wall.
