The Dodge Momentum Index rose 0.6 percent from its revised reading in March to 116.5 in April. The index is a monthly measure of the first or initial report for non-residential projects in planning, which have been shown to lead construction spending for non-residential buildings by one year.

The increase was the third consecutive month-to-month gain, as a one percent pickup by commercial planning reports overcame a slight 0.1 percent decline by institutional planning.
The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) is searching for North American asphalt roofing projects for its 2016 Quality Asphalt Roofing Case Study (QARC) Awards. Both commercial and residential projects are being accepted. The competition is open to architects, specifiers, contractors, and consultants working with asphalt products.
