Eager Park in Baltimore, Maryland, was revitalized to showcase the community’s wellness brand by utilizing sustainable building materials. Designed by Mahan Rykiel and Gensler Architects, the 2.4-ha (6-acre) public space was created in conjunction with a biotech center close to the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland, is serving up culinary arts classes in a new building designed by Grimm+Parker Architects. A signature element of the new building is a high canopy over the building’s main entrance, which is a large glass atrium. The canopy is created out of insulated metal panels (IMP).
The Cold-formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) announced the recipients of several awards at the 2018 CFSEI Expo, held in San Diego. The institute presented Design Excellence accolades across three different categories, as well as an Innovative Detail Award.
The new Laurel Branch Library in Maryland was built to be much more than a repository for books and other media. Grimm+Parker Architects designed the library to serve as a modern space for discovery, as well as an overall central hub for the local community.
