Ford Motor Company has revealed site plans for Michigan Central, a mobility innovation district in Detroit. Practice for Architecture and Urbanism (PAU) is doing the masterplan for the project and Gensler will be reimagining the Book Depository, a key building in the development.
Netherlands-based architecture firm MVRDV has designed Glass Mural, a one-of-a-kind, four-story office and retail building in Detroit’s Eastern Market neighborhood. Situated just outside the city’s downtown core, the existing character of Eastern Market, the largest public farmers market in the United States, was an inspiration for the project’s design.
Construction and real-estate activities have resumed in Michigan. Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order allowing some types of work presenting a low risk of infection and is traditionally and primarily performed outdoors to resume from May 7.
