Topping-out completed in desert campus expansion

The student services building at California State University San Bernardino’s Palm Desert location has reached its topping-out milestone, delivered by general contractor C.W. Driver Companies.
The project received a $79 million budget allocation due to the support of California State Assembly members Eduardo Garcia and Chad Mayes.
The new 2,202-m2 (23,700-sf) building will provide ample space for students to study, collaborate, and unwind after classes.
Some features of the building include multi-purpose rooms and classrooms, group study rooms, student health center, recreation and wellness center, food services, library, campus bookstore, amongst others.
The building also includes a storage and loading dock space, and the site will include the renovation of more than 200 new parking stalls. It also includes significant sitework and landscape improvements, utility extensions, and new outdoor recreation areas.
It is expected to be completed by 2027.
