
Figure 13: A suspended ceiling was a practical way to install new lighting
and air distribution in Seattle’s King Street Station in 1967. Tastes
had changed and the suspended ceiling was removed to expose
the ornamental ceiling in 2010. The panels that are not seated properly were probably raised to provide access to the above-ceiling cavity, but were difficult to manipulate and reposition correctly due to their stiffness.
