Ceiling area (pink) is typically equal to the gross floor area (yellow), but is more visible as a large percent of most floors is covered 
by furnishings, equipment, and occupants. As room sizes increase, ceilings occupy a relatively greater proportion of a person’s visual field because walls recede due to perspective.
