Figure 4: Ceiling panels with real wood veneers are available with a variety of Class A-rated cores or on metal. Faux-wood finishes are available on thermoformed and metal panels. These panels are perforated to boast their sound attenuation average (SAA) and have grooved edges to cover the ceiling suspension grid. The grain direction in adjacent panels are rotated for a decorative checkerboard effect. While the light fixtures are centered in panels, the sprinkler is not. The awkward appearance of sprinklers can be avoided with drop-out panels.
