The area surrounding the ice-skating rink at the Galleria Dallas shopping mall is getting a major refresh. Mall officials announced plans to install new flooring, lighting, and seating to make the space more inviting.

The project will begin later this month and wrap up by the end of the year.

The teal glass surrounding the ice rink will be replaced with a fresh, off-white finish. New art will be installed on the signature scissor-style escalators.

The mall will also add new digital boards to help guests navigate more easily.

“Ongoing investment in Galleria Dallas, combined with strong growth in foot traffic, reinforces that modern shopping centers can still prosper in the digital era,” said the mall’s general manager Angie Freed.

The announcement adds to the recent investments to upgrade amenities, entry signs, and restrooms.
