The New York City headquarters of the Ford Foundation has been transformed into the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice. Led by Gensler, the major restoration project enhances the building’s original character, while increasing transparency and accessibility throughout the space.
When Danvers High School in Massachusetts embarked on a $70.9-million renovation and expansion project, staying within the budget and on schedule were at the top of its priority list. The first floor of the three-story academic building was clad with insulated precast concrete panels to provide a new ‘skin’ for the structure. Expanding the precast to the upper two stories was too expensive, so the architects looked to metal paneling to provide the look and feel they desired.
Details have been revealed for this year’s Metalcon educational sessions. Scheduled for October 18 to 20 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the event offers professionals in the metal construction industry opportunities to expand their knowledge and connections.
