The Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) has published product category rules (PCRs) for locks, latches, exit devices, door closers, and hinges. Performance-based design guide available

A new online resource, The National Performance-based Design Guide (NPBDG) has been released by the National Institute of Building Sciences. Made available through the Whole Building Design Guide, it is based on the recently updated U.S. General Services Administration P-100: Facilities Standards for the Public Buildings Service. NIBS revised the standard from a prescriptive guide to a performance-based system, making the information applicable to any public or private-sector building. The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) has released A Concrete Legacy: The Past, Present, and Future of the American Concrete Pavement Association, a limited edition publication showcasing the industry’s changes spanning decades. Of interest to those in the transportation and construction industries, the book begins in 1784 and includes photographs, fast facts, and vignette articles throughout. Water specification information expanded

The SpecText master guide by ARCOM has been expanded to include water and wastewater specification sections. Now, the Water/Wastewater Utilities Library features 101 sections, while the Water/Wastewater Equipment Library has 129. This is a 40 per cent increase from the beginning of this year. The new sections include Liquid Acids Piping, Bolted Steel Tanks, Vertical Turbine Flocculation Equipment, and Disc Cloth Filters.
