Dallas university aquatics center meets sustainability goals with curtain wall system

Southern Methodist University’s (SMU’s) Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium, Dallas, Texas, has earned the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). To realize the project’s aesthetic, performance, and sustainability goals, high-performance curtain wall, storefront, and wide stile entrance systems was used.

Washington high school opens up possibilities with sliding doors

The Northshore School District, Bothell, Washington, needed to expand to include a new North Creek High School (NCHS) on a 25-ha (61-acre) site. The district partnered with Dykeman Architects to turn their vision of a flexible, innovative learning center for 1600 students into a reality. Single leaf sliding doors support the collaborative culture at the school, provide space savings, daylighting, and sound attenuation.

Fire-rated curtain wall supports Maine environmental center’s green goals

Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine, aims to inspire students and faculty to work toward a greener tomorrow with the addition of its three-story, 2710-m2 (29,167-sf) Roux Center for the Environment. The center’s silicone-glazed, fire-rated steel curtain wall is one example where stunning transparent lites of glass also support daylighting and views of the tree-strewn town.

The Navajo Tribal Utility Authority’s (NTUA’s) new headquarters brings together administrative departments within its 7432-m2 (80,000-sf) offices in Fort Defiance, Arizona. Dyron Murphy Architects, a Native American-owned business, said its design was inspired by Navajo cultural elements.
